Hannah Holland

Hannah Holland is a product of all the best bits of London club culture. She condenses all the most innovative and exciting parties, scenes, movements, subcultures and music into one frenetic curly haired whirlwind of DJ. Sneaking into the Metalheadz Sessions at The Blue Note at age just 14, it was here that she caught the bug for the beat... and the bass. She’s never looked back since, going on to DJ at some of the biggest venues & festivals around the world and running the club night and label Batty Bass.

DJing at a mulletover after-hours session in Shoreditch in 2003, Hannah was spotted by high-octane east-end institution Trailer Trash’s head honcho Mikki Most. She was signed up instantly as a resident. Her star has been on the rise ever since, rocking dancefloors all over the world for hugely respected parties like Bugged Out, The Warehouse Project, Fabric, Ibiza’s Amnesia, Glastonbury, The Arches in Glasgow, Serbia’s notorious Exit Festival as well as Japan and Australia. Hannah is equally at home stealing the show in big rooms and festivals as she is capturing hearts in grimy basements and warehouse raves in the small hours; her groundbreaking DJ sets showcase a breathtaking array of musical offerings from the early bleeps of house music through to all the
best bits of classic and upfront techno, house and future bass...woven with HH magic.

In 2006 Hannah started Batty Bass as a vehicle to pursue the more eclectic side of her musical repertoire alongside long-time collaborator and friend Mama. Batty Bass subsequently manifested itself as a label in 2008, showcasing the incredible artists that have graced the stage of the club. Batty Bass has since become something of a monster. Continuously mobbed bi-monthly parties at The Star of Bethnal Green described by Time Out as "one of London's finest clubs… a must-do on the UK's club calendar”, have also given rise to a second residency at XOYO, showcasing the live side to the night and the label on a larger scale.

Like all the best DJ talents Hannah has turned her dancefloor expertise into studio magicianry. She released her first track Banshee in 2008 to critical acclaim – picking up plays on specialists shows on Radio One & Kiss FM - and has since sprinkled remix goldust on the likes of Yo Majesty, Spektrum & Jahcoozi to name a few. A year of reflection, influences and honing her studio skills, in Berlin in 2010, it was with her incredible Paris Acid Ball release last year that Hannah fully broke through as a producer. Pricking up the ears of all and sundry, PAB crossed dancefloors and genres picking up love and plays from corners as diverse as DJ Hell, Ellen Allien, Jesse Rose, Heidi, Danny Rampling & Terry Farley along the way.

Batty Bass, the record label - iDJ’s label of the month back in March this year - now 8 releases in has seen output from Hannah herself alongside POSH the Prince, Jahcoozi and Mama. BB released their first long player at the start of the year, which picked up plaudits far and wide. Hannah's remix of POSH! caught the attention of a Mr DJ Hell, who asked Hannah to remix his ‘I Prefer Women To Men Anyway’. Listen to this track and you hear why Hannah is being lauded as being at the top of her game right now.

2012 sees Hannah launching a new label with fellow Batty Bass resident, Deboa called Native City, home to stripped down house and techno. As well as working on a full length artist album to be ready later on in the year!

The batty beats brightly roll on!!
