Holla Peeps!!! Last weekend saw the Batty Bass crew out in full force at the MTV EMA's aftershow party in Belfast! The good people of MTV gave us the opportunity transport a very plain bar in the Europa Hotel into the world of Batty Bass for this hedonistic shindig. Alex Noble and team brought to life the BB world, a Galactic Gatecrash, filled with neon murals, bb slogans, exquisitely painted mannequins, a cinema, a dj booth dripping in paint held up by a checkered floor! The 2 Bears, Hannah Holland, Mama, Bubba, Feral aka MC KInky, and Josh Caffe provided the soundtrack to this debauched affair with BB voguers Rene & Nathaniel! The end of the night saw Azari & III vocalists Fritz & Cedric on the mic with Feral & Mama, while the Batty Bass djs went b2b, flanked by east London's finest drag queens werking the floor, a great moment!!!

Massive thanks to MTV and all the party peeps, it really was a dream come true for us to be able to bring Batty Bass into another dimension!

Newest member to the family Bubba's sound sits nicely between Hot Creation, Dirtybird, Classic and Traxx with his own stamp of house blends. A favourite producer of head honcho Hannah Holland. Bubba has also remixed the BB anthem 'Shake It Up', to be released later in the year.

Alex Noble, the man behind Lady Gaga’s white lace catsuit at the Brits last year - which she now proudly wears at Hollywood’s Madame Tussauds - is a bit of a creative do-it-all. As if dressing Gaga wasn’t enough to keep him busy - she wears his creations in the videos for Bad Romance and Judas amongst other things - he is now designing seasonal collections, illustrating for Decoy Magazine, collaborating on music label Batty Records, and on September 7th, the doors open to the new exhibition at Dalston Superstore which he is co-curating. You’d think he’d be run off his feet, but he’s not too busy to talk to LOVE.

Hannah Holland is the deeply infectious resident Trailer Trash DJ who is well and truly, totally addicted to bass.

First strumming bass guitar in her best friend's band from the age of thirteen, Hannah's blood pumping live sets are always jam-packed full of dirty rhythms and decent beats. Full of cheek and brazen blonde ambition, she is now co-founder of event-turned-record-label Batty Bass as well as being one of the most reputable, sought after DJs on the East London rave scene. Playing only the tunes she feels the most passionate about, Hannah's daytime activities revolve around her scouting out vintage delights from underground record shops and hitting up her favourite blogs in search of the freshest new tracks to keep her fingers busy and her fans dancing. Describing her signature sound as “dark energy with a whirlpool of bass and rhythm” this one woman party brings the beats that make you move your dancing feet. A regular at events Wet Yourself, Acid Ball and Society, Hannah can also be found at a heap of dance festivals over the summer ahead.

i-D Online caught up with the lady DJ to find out whats happening in front of and behind her turntables right now.

Can you remember the first record you ever brought?
Me and my mate went up to Soho and bought some records from Black Market, It was a pretty intimidating place for two young girls to walk into. Dred Bass was one of the records I bought, a classic jungle tune and I still have it!

What is your favorite track of all time?
That's a hard question, there are so many! Maybe, 'Baby Wants To Ride', Frankie Knuckles (it never left the box); Omni Trio's 'Renegade Snares (Foul Play VIP Remix)' never fails to emote; Rick James, 'Give It To Me Baby'. I'm bad at this question!

Tell us about your most memorable party?
There are many, but one of my favorite was the Trailer Trash First Birthday. It was held in a disused prison, the oldest and largest in London, it used to be home to petty criminals in Dickensian times. It was complete madness, people going bonkers in cells!

What makes a good night?
A combination of a great crowd, who love their music and are there to dance their asses off, a really nice sounds system, originality and true genuine love of what their doing from the people behind it. Magical things can happen when all this is aligned!

You're a professional night owl, what’s your secret behind keeping fresh, awake and together?
Music and adrenaline are very powerful drugs.

Do you think being a female DJ in a predominately male industry makes your job harder?
I try not to think about it, I just do what I love.

DSK - What Would We Do (Eight Minutes of Madness)

This is an absolute party banger... a demented horn riff weaves in and out of a brilliantly constructed house groove for literally eight minutes of madness. I think this might be my favourite record ever... you can almost smell the smoke machine, poppers and sweat when you listen to it, it's total realness.

R Tyme - Use Me (MK dub)

This is a proper slab of detroit house music. A classic MK remix with all his definitive hallmarks - skippy hats, infectious bassline, organ riffs, string sweeps and sliced up vocals. Jacking and deep tis is unbeatable club music that still sounds perfect.

There's a long selection of tracks I love to drop at Batty Bass that go down well, Oh Superman, Mirror Dance, Midnight, Brooklyn New York but the two I've chosen are tracks that are a little bit different. Tracks that, the first time I heard, I knew were right for BBB. For me they're individual, funky, brukky, bassy, they mirror what I see and feel at BBB

Dapayk and Padberg - 'Khes'
I drop this a lot - always in the box. Tribal beats with a snap to it. The vocal is simple but works - I'm still not bored of it after almost 2 years.. The melody is simple too but when you listen closely to it you begin to hear these cheeky bleeps and boops. I picture these pre-colonial African drummers communicating with each other..I still love music, boom, boom, boom..

Rebolledo - 'Amigos Coemme'
This track is totally different from most pieces out there. Its stripped down, tough beats, with quirky vocals that I don't understand. But you can just imagine what he's talking about. Its a fun track, It doesn't take itself too seriously. A real head bopper with a mid bass that draws you in. It can be a bridging track between a warm up and a peak set but also works well when I've played it late.

The one and only diva Mama has her muchly anticipated debut single finally here for your good ears!!

As we continue to take over the sound waves and tear up the system, we’re very proud to present Batty Bass 05. After sharing the stage on previous BB releases, #5 sees Mama where she well and truly belongs. Centre stage.

Following her own gigs and current tour with Bloc Party's Kele Okereke this is Mama's debut single, a track full of urban tension, dark seduction and knife edge sex appeal.

As well as her legendary stage shows at Batty Bass, Mama's previous projects have seen her take the stage at Bestival, Fabric and Glastonbury with an energy and performance inspired by the likes of Grace Jones and Talking Heads. Written and produced by herself, Mama brings all the intensity of the performance directly to the track.

Renegade is a bleakly futuristic song full of raw emotion and sensuality. Crystal sharp beats, and metallic synths lay an uneasy bed for mama's seductive coo's and subversive lament. A call to arms chorus with Mama's punchy delivery is backed by sparse claustrophobia. This is pop, but on Batty Bass's terms. Best sung a long to in the confines of a dark sweaty venue.

The legendary Berlin producer Jay Haze has done a blinding remix. Jay takes Mama to Berghain Garten. The darkness is still there but contrasted with sunshine keys, stuttering jazz percussion without losing anything of Mama's almost hypnotic vocal.

summer highlights!!!

So the summer has been absolutely rockin so far in the Batty Bass camp...starting with Glastonbury Festival. Myself, Alex Noble and a heap load of East London homies celebrated Glasto's 40th anniversary in blistering gorgeous heat. I played on the Friday in dance village west...it was a real honour. Block 9 was a real shining beckon of fun, a field on the edge of the festival, home to the worlds first traveling homo disco amongst other mindblowing things....plus seeing Stevie Wonder!! An amazing 3 days.

Mama has been taking her sensational sexi show back on the road with more UK tour dates with the fabulous Kele. We're very much look forward to the release of her debut single Renegade, with a remix from the dancefloor king Jay Haze, out on Batty Bass Records Weds 25th Aug!!!

Lovebox has been another summer highlight...As well as dj sets from myself with the East End family at the Trailer Trash/Wetyourself stage, Alex Noble's design for Jonny Woo beamed out from the mainstage...check out Alex's blog for more of his amazual work! Grace Jones, Peaches, Hercules and The Love Affair, NYC Downlow and loads more great acts were on this magical Sunday too!! It was really very special and full of East End family performing in every corner :)

I've just come back from Japan too, which was a crazy fun trip in Tokyo and Osaka. Was humbling to take the London vibe of Batty Bass across to the other side of the world again!! Big love to Bryan, DJ Kyoko, Rumi, DJ SKyfish and everyone there!!

POSH! has been taking the world by storm, playing in every country across the globe with Lady Gaga. Recently 3 dates at Madison SQuare Gardens!! GO POSH!!!

Jahcoozi have been globe trotting with their incredable new album out on BPitch Control...check it out peeps, its dark with deep rummbling barefoot bass. higly recommended..
