We're really excited about having Cooly G play at Batty Bass. We're huge fans. Don't miss this!
"Cooly G is one of the most original and talked-about producers coming out of the UK Funky scene. She describes her sound as having a 'deep house tribal dubstep vibe' and we're not going to argue with that.
Pushing a deeper sound than most Funky DJs, expect to hear her own unique, forward-looking beats alongside plenty of exclusive UK Funky business" (http://www.residentadvisor.net/event.aspx?101913)

"No one DJ or indeed producer can claim sole credit for dubstep . But when the history of the genre gets told, no DJ has ever had, or perhaps ever will again have so much influence over the course of the genre as Hatcha. It’s no overstatement to say the entire genre bares his stamp." Martin Clark - blackdownsoundboy.blogspot.com
Batty Bass welcomes not only the newest member of the crew, but also to the future. A future fashioned with sex, gold body suits, alien orgasms and bass. Introducing POSH! The Prince and his debut release Re-Bokk Robot! Epitomising Batty Bass this is NYC fuelled electro, from a Berlin burlesque bar jacked out of a London warehouse. Loud. POSH! arrived in Berlin in November 2008, and within a year has already seen the beginning of a fantastic career rise; his music, being described as Hardcore Psychedelic Funk. But POSH! prefers to let his talent speak, shout, moan and throb for itself; his live show always confronting, fusing sex, spirituality, attitude and song. By challenging his listener, and setting a greater standard for the current generation, as well as for generations to follow. In an era of over saturated genres, one hit wonders, and fakes, POSH! brings honesty, integrity, and pure love to the avant-garde. But this isn’t music to talk about. No, no, no, no, no. It’s music you dance to, stare at a gyrating gold ghetto robot body-popping to, F**k and get down in the gutter to. With the original and remixes courtesy of Playtime’s Mike Monday.
Original: POSH!’s vocal lick your face while the bass and synths coax you in and the snares slap you. Dirty dub-steppin sex music.
Mike Monday Vocal: POSH! Is performing in a different club altogether. Swap champagne for K, glitterballs for sirens, and velvet for bare brick walls and you’re halfway there.
Mike Monday Dub: Mike ejects POSH! From the club and lets the bass and sirens do the talking, leaving the vocalist faint calls to get back in the venue all but drowned out by the blasts of dry ice.

In honor of Best Of British talent, i thought id do my own run down of the British talent that inspires and amazes me.
Goldfrapp One of my favourite ever bands. 4 amazing albums, each with enough depth, sex, beauty, warmth and originality to take you to another planet.Alison and Will aka Goldfrapp are British eccentrics all the way. I had the privilege of working on some documentary style filming with them on the Supernature tour and also on a few of the Black Cherry videos. Working with them blew my mind and inspired me no end.
Planning To Rock This girl is one of the most powerful performers ive ever seen. Her voice is just massive and soulful, agianst a backdrop of her incerdiable video art pieces. DFA, Kill The DJ, CHicks on Speed, Peaches, The Knife are among fans and people she's toured and released records with. PTR has a new album about to drop, with production involvment from Hotchip, this is going to be an absolte cracker, cant wait to hear it.
Jonny Woo Performance artist, drag, tranny, comedian, poet, survivor, bingo caller, singer, actor, playright, genuis. This man is the king of London as far as im concerned, him and his drag artist house make London the eccentric creative spontaneous place i know and love.
Alex Noble Artist, designer, curator. Alex is an amaizing illustrator , as you have seen from the Batty Bass artwork, plus his skills in clothes designing have led to bespoke pieces for Lady Gaga, Vogue, Paloma Faith, Selfridges and much more. His creativity and skill is endless, and he is seriously one to watch....
Benga His album, diary of an Afro Warrior is still one of my favorites, leading dubstep man, the sound is completly London in a very new and futuristic way.
Untold mad production skills, completly orginal sound, rooted in dubstep, garage, house...british.
Jamie Jones Consistently one of my favourite producers...his basslines never fail to satisfy, with his funky deep layers of groove. Check out his brand new amazing album Do You Remember The Future? out on boundary pushing label Crosstown Rebels, boss Damian Lazarus is another important, British, musical, eccentric export!
Jungle / Hardcore / Pirate Radio Omni Trio, Shy FX, Rufige Cru, Hype, Zinc, Grooverider, Metalheadz ... plus so many more.. the energy, the bass, the straight up jump up madness pulled me into dance music by the scruff of my neck aged 12..the old tunes never get boring, the vibe never seems to date... a true british invention , true British bass!!
Since i last posted on here afew big things have been happening in my musical life. Firstly, i moved to Berlin, which has been utterly inspiring and really fired me up for making some new material. I've been nominated for Best Breakthrough DJ , in the Dj Mag Best of British Awards, feeling dead happy and honored about that :), plus i have a new single coming out on Playtime in Dec, also i did my first Beatport chart!! cccheck it out
Mama never fails to keep me entertained too.

On the first thurs of the month, the spirit of batty bass comes to possess a room, with your medium Hannah Holland channeling the force, and preachers Mama and MC Chickaboo saving your souls!!!!! and no one really knows what it's like unless they've experienced it , right? Except to say that you freakin danced your lil batty off!! We've seen the birth of a record label, clothing label, videos, exhibitions and our very own Batty Bass anthems, (Not to mention abortions, but that's a whole different story!)
Come shake that batty and celebrate our birthday, with Hannah Holland, Mama, MC Chickaboo, Miss Bailey and Deboa,

Latest members to join the Batty Bass Records family are Jahcoozi.
I first heard them back in 2003 on Damian Lazarus's excellent compilation series Rebel Futurism. Sasha was singing about fishing and meeting eskimos, to the sounds of experimental electro, with this sweet and twisted voice. A wiiiicked tune. The band are proper out on their own sphere, visually, sonically and stylistically and im very proud to have them part of the label. Big Up Jahcoozi. and their sikkk bassy bassy "Namedropper". Solo's remix is absolute killer too, a dancehall meets brazil at 4am rhythm. And ive got my oar in there with a dubbed out ahem affair.
Its out 28th AUG

The Biog. Both musically and culturally speaking, Jahcoozi are a mash up operation who have consistently managed to deliver their very own mongrel style of electronic pop music. Those behind this creative alliance are stage animal /song-writer /MC Sasha Perera (London/Sri Lanka), Beat-freak producer Robot Koch (Germany) and the bass-playing sound-tech fetishist Oren Gerlitz (Tel Aviv, Israel). Having got to know one another during a long, coal-fuelled winter in Berlin back in 2002, Jahcoozi have been making music together ever since. Songs such as Black Barbie and Fish are what gained them early recognition back in 2003, the latter having been played as a CD-R by the legendary John Peel.
Jahcoozi's unique and ever-changing blend of avant-dub-glitch-step based sound suceeds in combining honest, communicative pop sensibilities with warm sub- basses and a crunchy, precise yet organic sound texture. With two full-length albums ( 'Pure Breed Mongrel on Kitty-Yo, 2005 and 'Blitz 'n' Ass' on Asound in 2007 ) and numerous EPs, Picture Discs, remixes and features to their name, Jahcoozi have released music on various international labels such as Kitty-Yo, Asound, Playhouse, Ninja Tune, Bpitch, Citizen Records; Crosstown Rebels, 1965 and WMF Records just to name a few.
Over the years, Jahcoozi have collaborated with a refreshingly wide range of artists including Modeselektor, Asian Dub Foundation, Stereotyp, M Sayiid (Anti-Pop Consortium), Buraka Sound Sistema, MC Soom-T, Missill, RQM, Lexie Lee, Ata & Sasse, Cassy, Luomo, Siriusmo, Lethal B, Kano, JME, Skepta, , New Flesh, Infinite Livez, Alhaca Soundsystem, Puppetmastaz, Hannah Holland, Chris De Luca vs. Phon.o, Rustie, DJ Maxximus, Mochipet & King Cannibal.
As a result of the interdisciplinary nature of their music and irresistible live show, the band has led a blazing and unrelenting trail across the planet. This intricate journey has seen them play everything from prestigious music festivals (eg. Transmediale, Today's Arts, Lowlands, Electrowave) to raves in Transylvania or even an illegal bring-your-own boombox soundsystem in a Berlin underpass. Jahcoozi have managed to ignite almost any kind of dancefloor, event space or mosh pit-in-waiting ; somehow they always seem to morph the situation into a people-power style happening;-
Having toured 4 continents in 2008, Jahcoozi are back in the studio putting together their 3rd album. In the meantime however there are a few EPs coming up to to keep the Jahcoozi junkies going, with EPs on Ninja Tunes, Sugarcan and now Batty Bass.
The Jahcoozi live show is a fairly unpredictable experience. For some bands, a live concert means you get to hear all your favourite tracks sounding exactly the same as you've heard them at home on the cd and by all means some bands and some fans are more than happy like that! But Jahcoozi also tend to play a variety remixes, versions or bootlegs of their own songs as well as other unreleased material they've made purely for love and fun of ripping up the dancefloor.
A Jahcoozi classic for all the ketemina heads out there!!!

Next up was Exit Festival, wow. I went a day early to check out my mate Heidi and Justin Martin play b2b, they tore it to pieces, was so goood.
